A mother's Pain

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze (Isaiah 43:2 NIV).

There is nothing that pierces the heart like hearing the wails of a mother who has lost her unborn child. I do not like to write this but it happened this morning. At 5th Avenue Office Suites, where our kids furniture store is, there are a number of doctors from gynecologists, pediatricians, cardiologists just name them. So hear I was doing my work and I hear some  loud cries. I try and figure out whether it  is a child or an adult. You see, kids cry alot here when they come for their appointments/jabs. But the screams get louder and louder and am convinced it is an adult. I wonder whether they have been told they are unwell or received bad news.

Immediately a client walks in and asks me who is crying and I say its coming from downstairs. We rush to the corridor as now the wails are so loud and we see a pregnant lady being wheeled away into a clinic. By her side is her husband who is also crying and 2 other people. The woman was from having a scan and we can only guess what has happened. All of us from the different offices watched helplessly as she just wailed and wailed.

After a while, I stepped out to go purchase something downstairs and now at the drive way, I could still hear the lady's cries. This time it was just her and her husband waiting for a vehicle to pick them. I just watched them helplessly because what words can you say to them at that time being strangers. I only prayed that God would strengthen them, reach them where our hands are too short to reach and sooth that unbearable pain. Later I was told that their unborn child had passed on.

As a mum, I couldn't even bear to listen to the rest of the story. That pain is unthinkable. You see at SAS , I really interact with many pregnant mums. We discuss about the pregnancy, when the baby is due as they purchase things for the baby. Inf act yesterday, my client came with her 14week old daughter just to introduce her to me. What a joy it was to see the little one. I had only known her when she was in her mum's womb. So that's why it was so hard for me to hear that lady scream and moan. I can't just shake it off and will borrow these words from Girlfriends in God devotional (www.girlfriendsingod.com) for today.
We can be sure of this, my friend - when walking through the fiery trials of life, we are never alone. Jesus is right there with us all the way.

So so sad...may the Lord grant her peace at this time...only the Lord understands her and feels her shoes...

Unconditional love

As I went home last yesterday, I heard the song 'In harms way'  by BeBe Winans, Rhett Lawrence, Margaret Bell-Byars. When listening to music, I want to know the lyrics, what the song is communicating and how it applies in my life. This song reminds me of God's unconditional love, even when I do not deserve it, even when I have given up , even when he knows all He knows about me, he doesn't let go of me. That is just amazing. Undying love you've given to me Seen in me things I would never have seen I don't understand why you care so much, it's all a mystery Time and time again I ask myself What have I done to deserve such wealth The price you paid, I could never repay your generosity Chorus: In wanting to save me In order to save the day Because of love you placed yourself In harm's way It's truly beyond me Left without a word to say What kind of love would place itself In harm's way? What kind of love would place itself In harm

My Journey with Caleb's Family

A friend requested me to share my story on the journey we walked with Caleb's family. So below is a very long blog on that over 1 month. Am not sure what is in store for us ahead but this far it has been God. After our experience with Atrial Septal Defect(ASD) through our daughter Samara, I felt within me a call to look for people to partner with regarding kids with heart issues. So In January this year, I checked the net and bumped into a local NGO. The organization basically deals with kids with heart defects from poor families. I thought it was a noble call and contacted the organization. They were fast to respond and I visited them alone and over the weekend on a Saturday with my family. On the Saturday we went, we met Caleb and his parents. This was end of January and they were discussing with the founder of the organization about how to raise airfare for them to travel to India, first week of February. I held Caleb briefly in my arms and his mum kept saying one day her
