Caleb - An everyday reminder of God's faithfulness

Its been a while since I talked about Caleb. I met him and his family last week Thursday and its unbelievable just to see how he has added weight, with a great appetite, heavy and  is peaceful. We thank God and this boy reminds us everyday of God's faithfulness and awesomeness. He continues to go for weekly check ups and has monthly heart scans(ECHOs) and its been a bit expensive for the family. He is also on medication to control blood pressure.  His local cardiologist says he is doing well and if all goes well, he is due for surgery in India either December or January. We are waiting for a quotation from hospital in India so that funds can be sort to do the heart surgery he requires. I will provide more details when I get them but as of now, if anyone wants to support them in any way feel free to contact the Nicoletta(mum) or myself. Have a great weekend and remember God is able.

Giving

The past few weeks have been a time to evaluate my life in many aspects. One thing that has been standing out  is how selfish I have been. I think, I can do better than I have been doing...in the real sense I feel like I have been thinking about me, myself and I. I bought a book titled "Fasting by Jentezen Franklin" and it is amazing that the duties of every Christian are giving, praying and fasting . That hit me hard, I was like I have never seen it like that...as in God blesses us, not for us but so as we can bless others. In Psalms 49:20 it says "A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish". I do not want to be that man. That is the cry of my heart, even as I evaluate myself, may I think more about others and even as I ask God for increase, may it not be for me to live a more comfortable life but to enable me to help someone else.

Busy, Busy

The last few weeks have just been eventful and busy and can't tell where time has rushed too. The last time I was trying to blog about Caleb and how I had discovered my one month old househelp was pregnant when my beloved called and told me he had been involved in a road accident out of town. Well, one thing we thank God for is that neither he nor the guys who were in the car with him were hurt. After that, I was househelp searching before baby gal returned to school and once we got the girl it was trying to adjust to change and settle down. We have also been house hunting for the past 2 weeks and I tell you this Nairobi has got many con men. Can you imagine a certain guy made us drive all the way to Kasarani like 12kilometers out of the city, to go meet him as he had said he had a house to show us for our budget. Only to pick him up, and he takes us to a house which he isn't sure whether is available or not. So once he entered the compound and asked about the house he was to

Does One Get Used To Change?

Its amazing how change comes into our lives even when we do not expect it. of course to us it is a surprise but to our Daddy it isn't. Well 3 Sundays ago, my family and a friend Sandra , finally went to visit Caleb and his family at their home. We had a good time and  as you can see Caleb is doing great. We met Nicoletta's mum and sister , 2 prayerful women. Below is Caleb, his sister Maryanne and Samara. On our way from Ruiru, I received a call from my househelp's mobile and thought she had returned early from her day off but there was another lady claiming to be a nurse and she stated that she was admitting my househelp because she was very unwell and 6months pregnant. Well, I was shocked to hear the lady was pregnant and 6 months? We had only been with her for 1 & half months and I had never noticed, maybe I just didn't think she would be or she did a very good job at hiding. So the nurse said she would call me the day she discharges her and will write her a l
