Be Bold & Strong

Verse:            Joshua 1:9 Yes, be bold and strong! Banish fear and doubt! For remember, the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. - God is with us - That is the fact. - We must deal ruthlessly with fear and doubt. - We must encourage ourselves to be bold and strong, because HE is with us! PRAYER:  Lord, I will be bold and strong in the strength that You give me. Amen. Have a wonderful weekend. Look after yourself. K ind Regards Pastor Andrew & Vanessa Roebert ALIVE TO GOD

Lessons Learned In The Past Month

I always say that it is important to learn through the experiences that come our way. It was a great privilege and honour to serve baby Caleb and his family. No matter the challenges , we emerged stronger, with increased faith. I will share the lessons I learned. 1. God is real, the Almightly is Sovereign and ever faithful. 2. When God calls you kindly say Yes and He will chart the way for you, even when you do not know where that road will lead you 3. No man is an island. I would not have served as I did if I did not have the friends and the new friends that came my way during the past 1 month. 4. Always encourage someone. You don't need to have money to assist in God's work, you can write an email, sms or call, that encouragement takes the persona mile. 5.Please be careful, not everyone out there is genuine, you may have very good motives to help but others have their own goals. 6. The Lord does not allow His own to be embarrassed, if He has called and sent you,

My Journey with Caleb's Family

A friend requested me to share my story on the journey we walked with Caleb's family. So below is a very long blog on that over 1 month. Am not sure what is in store for us ahead but this far it has been God. After our experience with Atrial Septal Defect(ASD) through our daughter Samara, I felt within me a call to look for people to partner with regarding kids with heart issues. So In January this year, I checked the net and bumped into a local NGO. The organization basically deals with kids with heart defects from poor families. I thought it was a noble call and contacted the organization. They were fast to respond and I visited them alone and over the weekend on a Saturday with my family. On the Saturday we went, we met Caleb and his parents. This was end of January and they were discussing with the founder of the organization about how to raise airfare for them to travel to India, first week of February. I held Caleb briefly in my arms and his mum kept saying one day her

Caleb -1 week after India

Caleb the great warrior, the boy who daily reminds us of God and His sovereignty has been in Kenya for 1 week now. The parents are very excited about having him home and the many milestones he is making. Nicoletta says that his appetite has increased and she is now considering to wean him. After all he will be 6months tomorrow 20th April. He is actually sitting down now without any support, that is a great milestone for this brave boy. He went for a review with the local doctor and she was impressed at his growth. He is now 5.1kgs, he will have another review and echo(scan of the heart ) in 2 weeks time but as of now he is still on medication.  The doctor told the family that they should thank God that Caleb went to India because a hospital in the UK that had offered to do  free surgery just about the time they were ready to leave for India had declined to take him saying he needed to add weight first. It was God who lead their footsteps to go ahead with the India option. This morn

Tribute to Mrs Helen Kanyi

Mrs Helen Kanyi was a very good friend of my mum. They have worked together for the past 15years and she was such an encouragement not only to my mum but to our entire family. She was diagnosed with cancer over 20 years ago and her attitude never once changed. She always looked out for others, never concentrated on herself and what was happening to her body. Her doctor works same floor as where our shop is and once or twice I met her after picking her results and they were not so good, but never once did she lament. She would tell me the doctor said the cancer is spreading but am not worried. Jesus gives life and am on my way to seeing a patient with colon cancer in Kenyatta Hospital.  In fact her concern at the time was that colon cancer is affecting the young people. I looked at her and mostly she would encourage you when you thought you would be consoling her. Her eyes were on Jesus, I have never met a selfless lady like her, always with a smile, cheerful. We have so much to lea

Caleb is back home

Caleb and mum arrived safely this afternoon and they both looked very great. Caleb's dad was so excited and you can understand , after a stressful 1 month away from him, he can now rest in the fact that their son is back home much better than he left. When I saw him and held him in my hands I could only cry, it has been a journey of tears, different emotions but most of all one of faith. We have come to know the God of Caleb because it is God who fought for Caleb this battle. There have been so many obstacles but God has a great plan for this warrior/brave boy. He is a victor. Kindly see his pictures here. Imagine he weighs 4.4 kgs, is feeding well, yes on medication but very calm. Thanks guys for the support, we would not have come this far without you. Those are lovely pictures.

He is all you need

Verse:            2 Corinthians 12:9 (Living Bible) 'I am with you; that is ALL you need!' - Whatever you are facing right now - He is all you need! - Whatever you are going through right now - He is all you need! - Whatever you are battling with right now - He is all you need! - Whatever you are contending with right now - He is all you need! - He is ALL you need. PRAYER:  Thank You Lord that You are all I need. I will place my confidence and trust in You for this new week. Amen! Enjoy the rest of the week. I DO

Yesterday I was listening to Hope FM over lunch time and I had an AH! moment. The discussion was on Easter and what Jesus did for us on the cross and the question posed to listeners was 'What do you want to do with this Jesus?'.  After you have heard what He did for you on the cross? After God who so loved the world that He gave His Only son for our sake so that we maybe saved, what do you want to d with this Jesus? You see, in a wedding ceremony, the officiating pastor normally asks the groom and bride  whether they do accept the other as their wedded husband or wife. If the lady says 'I do' and the groom keeps quiet then there is no wedding/marriage until they both consent. Same with us and Jesus, when Jesus was on the cross just before He died He said ' It is finished" , in other words He said I DO   and its up to us to either say I do or keep quiet. When we say I do, we enter into an eternal relationship with Him. That was so profound and I want to say I D

God's Greatest Love

Verse:             John 15:13-14 Greater love has no one than this; that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends. - God's love for us is so great that He paid the ultimate price. - Because of God's love for us, He died for us. - This action was a true sign of love and friendship. - God loves you and desires that you would know Him as your friend. PRAYER: Lord, You are so good. Thank You for dying and going to the cross so that I could be forgiven and know You better. Amen. Enjoy Good Friday tomorrow! The Only Jesus They See

I have listened to the song 'The Last Jesus' by Kirk Franklin over and over and its truly a challenge to all of us. May we be the Jesus people see in our self centered world. Our actions speak louder than words. "The Last Jesus" By Kirk Franklin   http://youtu.be/ShR9Zb1Uepc I see you, I need you, but I don't know your name I touch you, say I love you, but that's all you get for today It's easy, so easy, to tell you it's gon be okay When I don't walk shoes, haven't been through what you been through Instead I push you away Sunday everyone looks like you But if our lives are cold inside tell me what's the use If I say I love Jesus, but you can't see my Jesus My words are empty, if they can't see Jesus in me No more excuses, I give myself away Because I may be the only Jesus they see Too busy, forgive me, I've got problems of my own It's easier to say your help is on the way But I was your help all along

Let's start working towards a homecoming for Caleb

The past three weeks have been a roller coaster. Its been a mixed bag of emotions, shifting of goal posts and nothing ever seemed sure at any one time. I had to learn quickly that I can not put my hope in man but in God. I have had the friends of Caleb, call, sms just to find out how Caleb  was? Some, I don't even know how they got to know about Caleb but one fact that has humbled me is God is sovereign and in control. Even when we gave up many times, He was not done yet and He had woven this whole process so perfectly. Caleb is doing great, not using oxygen. His breathing a bit heavy but doctor says that will take 2 weeks for him to adopt. He is feeding well orally and the parents are happy. The doctors say he may be discharged from hospital tomorrow to a guest house. There they will observe him for 3 or four days and they will be ready to travel home. That is a miracle right there. We need to welcome them at the airport and tell the God of Caleb thank you for taking Him to I
