Isolation is one thing am looking forward to winding up. After baby gal's surgery we were advised by the surgeon to keep Samara away from public places and interactions with many people for about 8 weeks. This is because despite the top of the scar having healed, the bone structure within takes about 8 weeks to heal and hence exposing her to public would mean catching things like flus which would strain her or her being carried by many people in different postures would not be too good for her healing. Think there is the theory and the practical.
When we came back, it was exciting to tell people we were back but the next hurdle was to tell them that we would love them to meet baby gal but for her health and healing process, we have to keep her home for another 6 or so weeks. Quite hard it is/was. Anyways we had a scary experience because we arrived on Friday and maybe due to the travel , change of diet and weather, baby gal started running a fever on Saturday night and early Sunday morning we had to rush her to hospital. Of course the doctor said its some viral disease and we were given antibiotics for a week. Our cardiologist didn't want to take any risks and asked that we do blood culture to see whether there was an infection in her heart and that would mean giving her antibiotics through IVs or reopening the heart again. Just the thought made us understand the seriousness of isolation.
Anyways five days later the results were out and she had a clean bill of health and we rejoiced and said we shall abide by the rules. Its been painful leaving baby gal home, or one of us attending a wedding because we can't all go together. Its hard not to allow her to attend birthdays we have been invited because we know we can not risk.
One thing am learning is that one of us, has to remind the other when we are so tempted to bend the rules just abit. Most of the time its me who would like to bend the rules and unfortunately make my beloved look like the bad guy but in real sense he is just watching out for baby gal and us because when we go to hospital like we did last time, I was all tears. And so am grateful to God for my beloved , and am sorry for trying to bend the rules Am so glad that no matter how painful the decision , its worth it. So join us as we do the countdown to December 16th. Thank you hun and love you to pieces.
Have a great day and enjoy the freedom you got today.
