Down Memory Lane

One evening last week,my beloved put our wedding dvd for us to watch. It was a special moment because this was the first time we had sat down as a family i.e including Samara to watch. It was so good to hear her recognise and call out mummy and daddy as she watched. In the middle of it she got sleepy and tired but what captivated me was, three years ago on our wedding day, it was just Alex and I and today we have been blessed with a daughter. I think God is awesome and just has a way of blessing us beyond what we can think or imagine. I was no ordinary girl or so I thought. Girls dream of their wedding day and  fantasy about their wedding dresses. Girls dream of having their own families. For me, I never thought I would get married, I had never pictured myself in a wedding gown, or married to a lovely man and having kids. That was just me.

So much has changed in those three years. We have had our fair portion of achievements and struggles but its been God who has got us here.  To date, I have no regrets of  having said I DO to my beloved. He is my companion, friend and moments shared together are treasured. A ride to work together, a cup of tea or hot lemon ginger shared, an sms, a phone call, a smile, a hug just makes our friendship special. We know that life is in everyday things we do.

Am most thankful that he is the most loving and caring dad. He is so protective of Samara and doesn't keep his eyes off her especially when she is playing with other kids. I know our daughter will grow with a lovely image of God the Father because she has a father who is approachable, loving and caring. He also disciplines with love. Over the years, many  have struggled to relate with God as a father because of their  bitter experiences with their fathers. Some describe them as harsh, unapproachable, mean, unkind etc and hence find it hard to relate with God . So today am grateful for my beloved, for the love, concern He has for me and our daughter. I say, may the good Lord bless and keep you.  Know that we treasure you this day.

Great memories for sure...given a chance i would have the same wedding...the same way, and marry the same angel! I think it reminded me too of the great role and wisdom that i got from you on how to handle the plans......

Its so great and owesome to see how far the lord has brought us, what He is doing in our lives and the shaping that is taking place. For us and for everyone else, without Christ being the head, you aint going anywhere....

Samara, forever a joy to us and a quick reminder of God,s great love and amazing art!...sing along.."how great thou art, how great thou art..."
Thanks babe. All glory goes to God. As for the song, we will sing when we are the three of us and shake our heads as we usually do..our unique family dance.

Unconditional love

As I went home last yesterday, I heard the song 'In harms way'  by BeBe Winans, Rhett Lawrence, Margaret Bell-Byars. When listening to music, I want to know the lyrics, what the song is communicating and how it applies in my life. This song reminds me of God's unconditional love, even when I do not deserve it, even when I have given up , even when he knows all He knows about me, he doesn't let go of me. That is just amazing. Undying love you've given to me Seen in me things I would never have seen I don't understand why you care so much, it's all a mystery Time and time again I ask myself What have I done to deserve such wealth The price you paid, I could never repay your generosity Chorus: In wanting to save me In order to save the day Because of love you placed yourself In harm's way It's truly beyond me Left without a word to say What kind of love would place itself In harm's way? What kind of love would place itself In harm

11Years On

Jaden, On November 10th 2012,minutes,turned to hours,to days, months and years. It's been 11 years.I still remember you,the sadness is gone but the love is still there. On October 13th your birthday,I received so much love, gifts, flowers, cake from different people who didn't know how special that day continues to be. I was reminded that despite you not being here with me& us,you remain to be apart of us in a beautiful way. Always loved From mummy

My Journey with Caleb's Family

A friend requested me to share my story on the journey we walked with Caleb's family. So below is a very long blog on that over 1 month. Am not sure what is in store for us ahead but this far it has been God. After our experience with Atrial Septal Defect(ASD) through our daughter Samara, I felt within me a call to look for people to partner with regarding kids with heart issues. So In January this year, I checked the net and bumped into a local NGO. The organization basically deals with kids with heart defects from poor families. I thought it was a noble call and contacted the organization. They were fast to respond and I visited them alone and over the weekend on a Saturday with my family. On the Saturday we went, we met Caleb and his parents. This was end of January and they were discussing with the founder of the organization about how to raise airfare for them to travel to India, first week of February. I held Caleb briefly in my arms and his mum kept saying one day her
