Going to the Chapel
I will put the fear of Me in their hearts so that they will not turn away from Me. JEREMIAH 32:40
Many years ago, I was asked to marry a couple in a state where I wasn't licensed to perform weddings. No big deal—on the Friday I arrived in town, I figured I'd just go down to the county recorder's office and sign the right paperwork. But I was really tired when I arrived that particular Friday afternoon, and I talked myself into taking 15 minutes to stretch out on the bed and rest my eyes. Fifteen minutes turned into more than two hours. When I woke up it was 4:15—too late to get the license.
At this point I had a choice: call my buddy to see if he knew a licensed minister who could assist me, or just let it go. Who would ever know? I was comfortable in my Plan B decision. But that night at the rehearsal, the groom asked me, "Hey, did you get down to the courthouse today and get registered?" I blinked twice and then answered, "Oh yeah, sure." My, how my conscience ate at me throughout the ceremony. And for months afterward. The Lord tightened the screws on me until I knew I had to confess.
I finally worked up the courage to call my friend and met with him. I told him, "Uh, you're not going to like hearing this, but I owe you an apology . . . and you're not legally married."
Sure, he forgave me. Yes, we went down and took care of it. But it taught me a great lesson about the state of my heart and my deep need to fear the Lord. Fearing God is what helps us keep our promises. It's what makes our word good. It's what builds faithfulness into our lives. Fearing the Lord helps us stay true to Him, true to others and true deep down within ourselves.
DISCUSS

When have you suffered from not having a right fear of God? Anything right now that's troubling you?

PRAY

Thank God for being displeased with your faithlessness—and for caring enough to keep pursuing you and calling you toward obedience.

My Journey with Caleb's Family

A friend requested me to share my story on the journey we walked with Caleb's family. So below is a very long blog on that over 1 month. Am not sure what is in store for us ahead but this far it has been God. After our experience with Atrial Septal Defect(ASD) through our daughter Samara, I felt within me a call to look for people to partner with regarding kids with heart issues. So In January this year, I checked the net and bumped into a local NGO. The organization basically deals with kids with heart defects from poor families. I thought it was a noble call and contacted the organization. They were fast to respond and I visited them alone and over the weekend on a Saturday with my family. On the Saturday we went, we met Caleb and his parents. This was end of January and they were discussing with the founder of the organization about how to raise airfare for them to travel to India, first week of February. I held Caleb briefly in my arms and his mum kept saying one day her...

Happy Heavenly 13th Birthday Jaden

My dearest Jaden, Today is October 13, 2025. You would have turned 13—such a big milestone. This year, thinking of you has been hard, maybe it's because I came to Langa'ta after intentionally staying away or maybe 13 is so significant. I find myself wishing you had stayed and never left. It's unbelievable that time has gone so fast, yet love and memories remain. I look at your siblings; gorgeous, courageous& resilient, growing too fast into amazing  people and I miss you.  For the past few days, I have been lingering on Psalms 127:1-3 NIV  "Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him . Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court." I am thankful for you. I carry you in my heart.  I love you. Happy 13th birthday. Always Mummy.
